Sacred Cacao Mornings

Day 3/30 Sacred Cacao

Good morning.

I do have to apologise that I am a day late with this post. Our dear pet rat Cinnamon passed away yesterday, Cinnamon was a cute and ever so gentle natured creature. I felt the need to not be so active on the internet to process this life event, thank you for understanding.

Today on day 3 I will be sharing with you my morning routine based around cacao.

Now sometimes cacao doesn’t happen, sometimes card pulling, and grounding also doesn’t happen every morning for me. It happens most mornings now that I have made this my intention and am learning to honor myself and my sacred space time more and more. I must make a point here that, going forward with the 30 days of Sacred Cacao that this is not based on perfection. How ever you show up to cacao for yourself, is the right way for you, and that can look different from my mornings and others.

What is most important to remember when practicing self-love is to be gentle with your self and accept that sometimes life happens, we grow and change and so to do our practices whatever they may be. So, no beating yourselves up over missing a day or 2 ok, it’s a practice not perfection.

Mornings

Gosh I was never a morning person, in fact I was a night owl, I'd sleep in till midday and then stay up until 2-3 am. I loved the quiet of the night, everyone asleep just me and my creative endeavors. However having a family made this lifestyle hard. I'd often not get to sleep enough without being disturbed because my kids needed me. So for years I fought with myself on getting to bed at an early hour and waking up early. I told myself a story that I was a creative and creatives are night owls and that’s all there is to it, that’s my lot in life. My husband is an early riser, always has been and longed for me to join him in those wee hours before the world woke.

It wasn’t until we moved to Queensland that I found myself wanting to go to bed earlier and earlier. Its hot here and it really takes it out of me. I’m not outside in the middle of the day like I once was in the temperate Blue Mountains, I am very fair and freckle and burn instead of tan and prefer to stay in during the day then head out in the mornings or late afternoon, unless I am socialising.

I get tired around 8-9pm and like being in bed by 10-10:30pm, my body clock has changed, and I love it. I don’t feel an inner fight with my sleeping schedule because the outside world functions during the day light hours anymore. I'm up around 7am each day sometimes 6, sometimes 8 depending on my cycle and if I stayed up a little later.

The following is a run down of the things I enjoy doing in the mornings to start my day all based around beautiful cacao.

  • Wake up between 6-8 I have an alarm set for 7:30, I allow myself to either wakeup before it or sometimes sleep past it honoring how I feel.

  • I then have a big stretch, bathroom then make my bed.

  • I put the kettle on and measure out the ingredients for cacao into a pot on the stove and say my affirmations as I stir the cacao.

  • Pour myself a cup and head to my alter, where I spray myself with a grounding spray. I am currently using T-essentials Grounded spray. Its made with so much care. Its divine to use.

  • Taking big deep breaths I light a candle and then an incense with my intentions for the day in mind.

  • I clear my mind and shuffle my Tarot deck. My favorite deck is the Crystal Visions Tarot by Jennifer Galasso. These cards are so detailed and beautiful, such a joy to use. I ask my guides to give me guidance for the day then draw 3 cards. I meditate on them for a minute or 2

  • Then I move onto my Oracle cards. I shuffle and ask for guidance for the day and pull one card. I am currently enjoying a connection with the Super Attractor Oracle by Gabby Bernstein , the art is simple, abstract and pretty, and the messages are just wonderful, they really inspire me.

  • Once I have received my guidance for the day I take a few big deep breaths, thank my guides and invite the spirit of cacao in. I bring my cacao to my heart space, take note of the aroma and sip the cacao with my days intentions and guidance in mind. When I am finished. I ask the spirit of cacao to stay with me for the rest of the day and help me be open to the guidance, abundance and opportunities in me and around me.

  • I then shower and dress for my day and spend time with my dog on a morning walk, and then breakfast with my youngest daughter who is homeschooled.

I sometimes take this ritual outside or skip the alter all together and take my mediation and cacao on a walk. Often finding myself on the beach or at a park under a tree. Its nice to keep it fresh and change it up.
