Sacred Cacao Recipes
Day 2 of 30
Welcome Cacao Pod
Lets talk about what goes into making sacred cacao for ceremony and daily use. It is easy to make with a little know how and tools you already have on hand.
I am going to share with you below 3 tasty recipes a ceremonial recipe, this is the strongest. A Daily recipe, this is a great daily coffee replacement recipe, and a smoothie recipe, something a little different and fun for when you need some cacao love on the run or as a cool drink option.
Over the next month I will be adding a few more sacred cacao recipes for you to enjoy, so be sure to subscribe and not miss out on these wonderful cacao recipes’ directly to your inbox.
Traditionally pure sacred cacao is made with hot water and mixed together with spices then whisked to create a delicious frothy foam layer.
Cacao is gentle, but can affect each person differently, some feel it more and so require a smaller dosage than others. After using cacao regularly, you will get a sense of what is the right dose for you.
So how much Cacao is enough Cacao? 25grams for mild and daily practice
35grams for moderate great for replacing that morning coffee
45grams for ceremonial/ritual practice
These quantities are by no means set in stone, I encourage you to play with these weights and feel into what is the right amount for you. I am very sensitive to the spirit of cacao and choose to use a mild daily dose and only having the higher doses for ceremony.
Cacao just like coffee can be a tad dehydrating. To prevent headaches please be sure to drink plenty of water before and after cacao. I am a massive water drinker (thanks mum) drinking anywhere from 2-4 litres a day. Be sure to drink living water too, not reverse osmosis water which is void of vital nutrition. More on this in another post.
Now for the scrumptious recipes. I have included amounts for the daily dose as this is what I use more often than not. I'll include a bulk ceremonial recipe later in the month.

Method
With all 3 of these recipes no matter the quantity of Cacao, I start by gently heating the water and milk, with all the herbs and spices and stones in a pot on the stove. Try not to let it boil as too much heat will reduce the goodness in the cacao.
Once the liquid is heated, I add in the cacao and stir till combined, then take off the heat and give a good whisk to froth the cacao and make if foamy and extra creamy.
Meditate on your intentions as you make your cacao, infusing the elixir with all your good energy.
Pour your cacao into your favorite mug or cup and as you sip, take a few deep breaths between and imagine your intentions becoming infused with every fiber of your being, then repeat the next day and again and again and hopefully everyday as you fall more and more in love with this ritual.
Be sure to strain out your crystals, wash them and place them in a special place to use again.
To your health, your wealth and your inner happiness!
