Herbs and Spice's

5/30 days of Sacred Cacao

I love my little herb garden. She isn't big, but she is ever so abundant.

I am currently growing, common mint, apple mint, peppermint, red clover, lemon balm, lemon myrtle, garden sage and lavender but lavender we don't eat because lavender is not for eating its topical only okay! (lavender tastes gross).

Along side my lovely garden I have access to an organic tea shop that closed its doors but continues to trade their second hand clothing. She has bagged up her beautiful herbs and sells them for $2 a satchel. They are high quality organic and some local. Its sad she no longer serves though.

In my herb jars I currently have Siberian ginseng, elderflower, hibiscus, rose, Ceylon cinnamon, star anise and cardamom.

I found some organic ground cloves and cardamom at our local organic bulk store too.

These are my fav's of the moment. They really brighten up my cacao.

So many different combo's can be created with these, I am able to change them up to suit my energetic needs.

Here is a list I have compiled of all the energetic qualities of the herbs and spices mentioned in this post. Have a read about them and then mix and match to create the most amazing tasting high vibe cacao ever!

This list is not exhaustive by any means, there are so many herbs and spices out there to try, you are only limited by your curiosity and maybe what's available locally to you. Why not get in touch with some locals who know a thing or 2 about indigenous plants you can eat near you. Make new friends learn new things and amp up your cacao game, what's not to love?

My fav combo's are:

  • Common mint for healing

  • Rose for self love

  • Cardamom for clarity

  • clove for abundance

  • star anise for luck

  • Peppermint for cleansing

  • Red clover for success

  • Lemon Balm for calming

I simply steep the herbs and spices just like making a lovely cup of tea, then add this to my cacao once all the goodness has infused into the water. Boiling water is best here, be sure it has cooled slightly before add it to your cacao however.

I also sometimes add the herbs and spices directly into the cacao and milk mix with water and strain them out before serving. If I use powders I don't strain them, I am just mindful of not using too much because they will be stronger in powder form.

Are you growing your own herbs and spices? How do you use or plan to use herbs and spices in your own cacao rituals? I'd love to hear all about it in the comments below.
